There is much to be told about the history of the choirbooks. This story is made complete by actually seeing them live! As a run-up to the concert series, the Egidius Kwartet, in collaboration with the Lakenhal Museum in Leiden, has initiated an exhibition of all six choirbooks at the Lakenhal Museum.

Special exhibition in the Lakenhal

The choirbooks are stored at the Leiden Regional Archive and the City Museum The Lakenhal. The archive has five of the books while the museum has one. Both institutions have now joined forces to organise an exhibition in the Lakenhal. In April, the books were moved from the Regional Archive to the Lakenhal, where, for the first time in centuries, all six can be admired in one room!

Exhibition in the concert venues

From May 10, there will be an exhibition about the choirbooks in four of the cities where the concerts are to be given.

In Leiden : in the Central Library, Nieuwstraat 4.

In Groningen : in the Martinikerk.

In Alkmaar : in de Great St. Laurentius Church.

In Rotterdam : in the Laurentius Church.
